Hailed by MusicTalks Sydney as "One of the best Jazz Singers in the world", Singaporean vocalist Alemay Fernandez is a veteran performer in the Asian jazz scene. In her illustrious 22 year career, she has performed with David Foster, Jim Brickman,  Gregory Porter, Incognito, Ray Parker Jr (Ghostbuaters' Theme), Nat Adderley Jr (Luther Vandross MD), Ernie Watts (Charlie Haden, Rolling Stones), Randy Brecker (Horace Silver, Art Blakey, Brecker Bros), Antonio Hart (Roy Hargrove), Jay Anderson (Woody Herman, Carmen McRae), Lewis Nash (Dizzy Gillespie, Betty Carter), Janis Siegel (Manhattan Transfer), Lauren Kinhan (New York Voices), The Platters' Bobby Soul and opened for Laura Fygi & Benny Golson (Jazz Messengers). She has the distinction of being the only Asian singer to have performed with 3 of the top Jazz Orchestras in the world: Wynton Marsalis & The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, The Count Basie Orchestra & The Duke Ellington Orchestra. She has also been entertainment of choice for visiting Celebrity A-Listers and World Leaders over the years including Kevin Spacey, Ethan Hawke, Lea Salonga, Paloma Picasso, Serena Williams and former U.S. President Barack Obama. During Covid 19, she managed to clinch a virtual international appearance in an off-Broadway musical showcase "The Perfecf Fit"
 
Alemay is known for her sultry tone, powerhouse vocals and an onstage presence that keeps the audience eating out of the palm of her hand. She has toured internationally, headlining at notable jazz festivals and venues worldwide including The Black Cat Jazz Supper Club in San Francisco, Wally's Jazz Club in Boston and the legendary Birdland Jazz Club in New York, an honour only a handful of non US-based Asian Jazz artistes have had. Alemay also did a sold-out 6-city tour across Israel in June 2022, the first Singaporean Jazz artiste to do so.
 

As an educator, she has worked with vocal students of all ages around the world, conducting vocal and performance workshops. Alemay served as Artistic Director for the Jazz at the Red Dot Workshop Series (2017 - 2019) and also hosted her own Jazz radio hour on Symphony 924FM (2017-2018). She is currently Vocal Coach for National University of Singapore Jazz Band and Vocal Lecturer at the Lasalle College Of The Arts Singapore.
